Apple’s new version iPhone and iPad won’t be including pre-packaged app for Google’s video website – YouTube. This marks another move in extending the gap between the two rivals.
From an article posted in The Economic Times,
“Our license to include the YouTube app in iOS has ended,” Apple said in a statement on Monday. “Customers can use YouTube in the Safari browser and Google is working on a new YouTube app to be on the app store.”
Apple had announced in June that it would be shipping a new version of Map app, and would not be using Google Maps. Google and Apple had been hand in hand for a long time, and the recent rivalry may have come due to Google’s new entry into the Android smartphone platform.
User’s seem to be going fine with the news, they say that the YouTube apps in iPhone are less frequently used, and doesn’t matter if Apple remove the app as well.
